Ourplace is the staff website (extranet) for Frimley Health.

The main site is secure, and accessed by logging in using your Microsoft account (the one you use for NHSmail). There is also a small area that is hidden but not secured. This is for non-sensitive information for new staff, contractors and volunteers.

Overlap with the old intranet

There will be a period of transition where some pages take you to the old intranet. These will continue to be accessible only on the trust network- either on site using trust wifi or a wired connection, or from off-site when logged into the trust VPN.

What's new?

The new ourplace has been developed through a process of engagement with staff and stakeholders around the trust. It uses learning from the successful launch of our new public website a year ago, and from our old website and intranet.

  1. Simpler navigation
Find information faster using the A-Z directory for teams, departments, and topics. Areas with large amounts of content, like HR, have their own A-Z: HR A-Z directory page.
  2. Improved search
Search is predictive, and file results are separated from page results. News articles are automatically archived after a year.
  3. More personalised navigation
On the homepage, you'll find 'my most visited pages' which will automatically show the pages you visit most often, and 'my quick links' where you can bookmark pages you want to be able to get to with a click.
  4. New policy database
Policies have a dedicated searchable directory page that shows a summary and key information for each document without needing to open it.
  5. Mobile-friendly
The new site is accessible on any device by logging in using your Microsoft/NHSmail account. You don't need to be on the trust network, or use the VPN when working off site.
  6. Improved accessibility features
The accessibility toolbar includes better tools like the dyslexia-friendly font.
  7. Apps and systems menu
A dedicated menu in the top navigation for the site provides easy one-click access to the web based apps and sites we use for our work.
  8. Alignment with our public website
The new ourplace is based on the same system as our public website. This makes for a consistent approach across both sites, and editors for each site have the skills to edit the other without extra training.
  9. Better website functionality
A wider range of tools are available for editors to be more creative in communicating content, while maintaining a consistent and accessible approach.
  10. Staff directory
An improved staff directory will automatically be updated with information from ESR.
  11. Keeping up to date
A new feature means the latest trust news is shared in a sidebar across the site, and improved functionality allows for more nuance in alert banners.
  12. Improved events calendar
The new calendar makes it easier to see more details for a whole years worth of events at a glance.
  13. Self service communications
Staff can easily submit a form to add an event to the trust calendar (with approval by the communications team) and can create posts to the social noticeboard without approval (moderation carried out by the communications team).
  14. Guest area
A small unsecured area of the site will be available to anyone by sharing a link- meaning we can share information with new starters, contractors, and volunteers, without them needing a trust account. This will contain information that isn't intended for the general public, but which isn't sensitive or confidential.

You may be prompted to login to access ourplace using your Microsoft online account. These are the details you use to login to Microsoft- including NHSmail- in a web browser.

You can use the accessibility toolbar at the bottom of your screen to:

  • Change the text size
  • Adjust the font
  • Modify the colour contrast
  • Use the translate function
